A Red Wind Statement
Inspired by that which is real but ineffiable, my goal in this work is to confront the threshold of the unresolvable. In these prints an immediacy of gesture is apparent but the inherent meaning is just beyond interpretation. The work reflects on a quiet quality of thoughtfulness, individual abilities regarding loss and the ways in which we reckon with that which is irrational. The vocabulary of shape suggests communication that goes beyond recognition.
The fugitive figure provokes active thought about inner life. Unique decisions of light and gesture contrast the stark structure and minimal composition acknowledging the hand-made quality of the works. The red figure references danger, warning and fear of the unknown.
Each unique edition-of-one print is made by hand one at a time. No camera, film or digital media of any kind is used.
